Bogomolov A. Optimization of specific allergological diagnostics of bronchial asthma and allergic rhinitis

Object of study: bronchial asthma and allergic rhinitis; the aim is to improve the specific allergological diagnosis of allergic rhinitis (AR) and bronchial asthma (BA) by component analysis of diagnostic allergen extracts, determination of their regional features, analysis of results of the use of allergen extracts from different manufacturers, use of medical thermography to increase the objectivity of skin prick tests (SPT) with allergens, conducting a comparative study of different methods for determining of sensitization to allergens, comprehensive clinical and laboratory analysis of diagnostic significance of extracts of different allergen groups, optimization of approaches to determe the profile of sensitization in relevant categories of patients; research methods: clinical, allergological, instrumental and statistical; novelty: it is shown that extracts of diagnostic allergens contain both major and minor components, and non-allergenic ballast components; further developed the issue of inconsistency of the results of SPT and immunoblot to determine the sensitization to allergens of different groups; it is established that different laboratory methods (K- and NK-immunoblotts) of determination of sensitization to allergens of different groups at comparison of their results with data of SPT show various diagnostic value from satisfactory to excellent; new scientific data on the parameters of the diagnostic value of immunoblot and molecular component testing, which in patients with BA and AR differ depending on the group of allergens; algorithms for the application of different methods of specific allergological diagnosis in case of suspected sensitization to allergens of different groups have been developed, which will optimize the route of a patient with suspected BA and AR, which will lead to earlier diagnosis of allergic diseases, appointment of specific treatment (elimination measures and allergen – specific immunotherapy).
