Essay

The dissertation research proposes a conceptual model of the alleluia-praise paradigm of European culture and music, due to the etymological, linguistic and spiritual-semantic correlation of the concepts «cult» and «culture», which allows to investigate in more detail the spiritual genesis of European cultural and historical tradition. The paper shows that the connection between cult and culture, due to the etymology of their common root basis, reveals such a significant quality as «reverence», «rotation-centered around the Supreme», and is an essential direction of modern culturological thought. In the dissertation it is established that the Christian Slavonic has absorbed into its semantic limits the richness of the glorious cult and social-building practice, which was formed from the ritual-rite of the first cultural activity. The generalization of various culturological concepts of the XX – XXI centuries, focused on the dominant role of the cult in the formation of culture (including Christian), formed the basis for the formulation of leading guidelines of the alleluia-praise paradigm of European culture and music. Its semantic «dominants» are centered around the concept of the Glory of the Lord and those close to him (praise, gratitude, reverence, joy, beauty, ecstasy, etc.), related to the etymological and semantic parameters of «cult» and its derived culture. It is revealed that within the Christian spiritual and ethical tradition, the sacred essence of which is engraved in the intersection of the concepts of «theology of glory» and «theology of the cross», hallelujah paradigm is a sign of spiritual Transfiguration, as well as unity in eulogy of earthly and heavenly worlds and secular principles, which are represented not only in the theological Holy Father's interpretations of the phenomenon of «the glory of the Lord», but also through the ideas of the «symphony of powers», the «union of the throne and the altar». It is established that the realization of these features of the hallelujah paradigm of European culture is also inseparable from the idea of the highest spiritual Divine Order (ordo) and its indicative Hierarchy, derived from sacred primary sources. Alleluia-praise quality in this case marks a certain final «stage», illuminated by images of triumph, praise, exaltation of God and the heavenly world. The projection of this idea in the earthly world is manifested in the sacred elevation of the figure of the monarch as the guarantor of Order, in the identification of the spiritual guidelines for the existence of national statehood and its accompanying attributes. In other forms of state formation, the idea of Order is focused on the key principles of spiritual and religious existence of the nation, thinking of the stages of its history in biblical categories, respect for its shrines and archetypal guidelines. Accordingly, the objects of praise are the bearers of the national idea, as well as prominent historical figures and artists, whose activities unite the nation spiritually and determine a significant role in these processes of praise. It is noted that the focus on the ideas of Order, spiritual unity and overcoming individualism leads to an appeal in the hallelujah paradigm of culture to the ideas of catholicity, supra-confessionalism, which is manifested either in the attraction to the ideals of the «undivided Church» of early Christianity XX – early XXI centuries.
