Essay

The dissertation based on a comprehensive analysis of various sources (author's ethnographic data, museum collections, private collections, archival, published and unpublished sources) reveals insufficiently studied aspects of Ukrainian traditional folk culture, including the evolution of clothing traditions of Transcarpathia. Transcarpathia is considered as a kind of historical, ethnographic and economic and cultural zone, an area of ethnic and political border, inhabited, in addition to Ukrainians, Hungarians, Romanians, Slovaks, Germans and others.
