Essay

Theoretical and methodical basics for the formation of professional technical interpreters in universities are set in the dissertation. The work analyzes the problems associated with the implementation of technical translators traditional education and substantiates the need to create and implement a new education system aimed at training highly qualified specialists who can navigate in modern society, information space, be competitive and mobile. The work examines the development and formation of technical translators in the last century. The author's contextual analysis of various sources made it possible to determine the ratio of understanding “competence”, “competence” and “professional competence”. On the basis of the analysis, a generalized structure of technical translator professional competence is proposed. It is a complex of functional competences in the general scientific, professional, individual psychological and social relations spheres of translation activity. The theoretical and methodological analysis of the study made it possible to determine the main functions of the system for technical translation training specialists on a competent basis. These are educational and cognitive, innovative and active, research and diagnostic and motivational functions.
