Fabian M. Etiquette semantics in the Ukrainian, English and Hungarian lexical systems

The dissertation is devoted to the comperetive lexico-semantic analysis of the nouns denoting etiquette in the Ukrainian, English and Hungarian languages. A new direction in typological investigation of both lexico-semantic word groups and lexico-semantic fields based on the combination of linguistic methods with mathematical theories is elaborated. Both quantitative and qualitative parameters of the nouns''interlanguage comparison have been set up. Theoretical and practical solutions to the problem of both linguoculturological approach and cognitive aspect of interlanguage contacts have been developed. The results of the work may be employed to the theory and practice of translation, including machine translation, to the process of foreign language teaching, to working out lectures and specialized courses in lexicology/lexicography of the Ukrainian, English and Hungarian languages, lexicographical practice and applied linguistics.
