Shvetsova A. National Character As the Subject of Social Philosophical Analysis.

The author elaboratedthe Social Philisiphical Conception of National Character based on the understanding of National Character as a metaphysical idea which makes conditions of cognition of definite cultural-historical phemonema connected, first of all, with spiritual-psychological unity of nation as unique, integral subject of history. In the course of investigation it is being proved that thas kind of approach allows to personify ethno-national community as a kind of @person of culture@ - an ideal type of person who is brought up and moulded by the cultural background of nation$ in is turn it is characteristic of a nation, it is a sort of aidos and plays the most important role in the self-identification of evry other of its representative. There have been throughly analysed the peculiarities of the Ukrainian national character in the course of historical development; basides, the author determined the main prospects of the formation of democratic civil society in Ukraine.
