Verkalets I. The impact of legal awareness on the implementation of the functions of law.

The thesis deals with the comprehensive theoretical and legal study of the impact of legal awareness on the implementation of the functions of law in the conditions of formation of the Ukrainian legal system, which is currently in the process of dynamic transformation. The problem of legal awareness is objectively one of the key problems in the jurisprudence, since legal awareness as one of the forms of social awareness is designed to implement the universal goals of the system of social relations while directing and systematizing the functions and tasks of the legal system. The author of the thesis specifies this need by drawing attention to the fact that legal awareness certainly has dynamic character, it is constantly changing and evolving; legal awareness acquires specific features that require scientific verification under the influence of social and legal reality. It is the study of legal awareness that can significantly influence the solution of key problems of social and legal reality, as it is a formative element of this reality. Based on this statement, the thesis features the characteristics of the main approaches to studying the multifunctionality of the legal system, which are dominated by legal psychology, ideology and culture, which are permanently involved in the formation of adequate legal behavior, which in turn is the result of perception of legal reality. As proved in the thesis, the degree of social significance and effectiveness of legal norms is determined y studying the influence of these factors on the implementation of legal norms. The thesis establishes that the concept of the function of law is revealed through the prism of the social purpose of law in general as well as the directions of specific deliberate legal influence on social relations. After all, the law actively influences society by implementing its inherent functions, and thus takes an active part in the processes of regulating social relations. The functional potential of legal awareness is revealed both in the generalized, broad impact on social relations and in a narrow context, which provides for the implementation of the opportunities of the legal regulatory influence as such depending on their nature and significance for social development.
