Essay

The thesis presents the theoretical synthesis and solving important scientific problems of ethnic and cultural features of informal socialization. Taking into account the approaches that exist in the psychology of development and ethnopsychology, analysis of foreign and domestic literature, the dissertation identifies, first, the theoretical and methodological foundations of the problem of informal socialization. The essence of the concept of informal education is revealed. It is determined that informal education is an individual cognitive activity that accompanies people's daily lives and does not necessarily have a purposeful nature. Informal education can also be defined as the spontaneous learning of the individual, which is based on his own activity, self-affirmation and self-expression. Informal education is an important factor in professional and personal self-improvement. It does not have a specific structure, and the results of the educational process are determined by the ability of a person to transform the capabilities and potentials of society into factors of its individual development. Based on the post-classical paradigm, the phenomenon of informal socialization is determined. It is argued that informal socialization is interpreted as a kind of individual cognitive activity that accompanies everyday life, is realized through the own activity of individuals in the surrounding cultural and educational environment; communication, reading, visiting cultural institutions, travel, mass media, etc. Informal socialization includes subjective well-being, the level of loneliness and the level of self-actualization. At the same time a person turns the educational potentials of society into effective factors of their development; unorganized, not always conscious and purposeful process that lasts throughout a person's life. Informal education is one of the institutions where informal socialization of the individual takes place.
