The dissertation examines the problem of forming the professional position of future service specialists and proposes a new approach to its solution, which is to introduce the technology of forming an active professional position of these specialists in the educational process of vocational colleges. Based on the analysis of sociological, psychological and pedagogical literature, methodological and theoretical principles of forming an active professional position of future service specialists in the educational process of vocational colleges are discovered, the foundation of which is made up of: state regulations on training requirements at the higher and pre-higher educational institutions, in particular, main requirements for these specialists; fundamental scientific sources that specify the main definitions of the study such as “professional position", "active professional position", "service specialist", "vocational college", "educational process", "formation of an active professional position of future service specialists", "pedagogical technology"; scientific developments on the formation of an active professional position of future service specialists in the educational process of vocational colleges; experience in organizing training of specialists in this field for professional activities in different countries of the world. Understanding of the content of the professional position of a service specialist is generalized, which is based on the value concepts of preservation of health, psychological comfort of the client, compliance with the law in professional activities, achieving optimal efficiency of professional activities’ results. Emphasis is placed on the ways of identifying an active professional position of a specialist in the field: social orientation, creativity, social communication, self-improvement.
