CHZHAN L. The ways of professionalization of Ukrainian vocal art (on the example of the genre of folk song setting)

These two main genre indicators of folk song setting can serve as an analytical matrix by which it is possible to characterize the relevant musical compositions in the genre aspect – both in the field of history and theory of music, and in the field of performing musicology. In the presented research for the first time we: determined the specifics of the genre of folk song setting as the one that combines the laws of traditional musical culture and professional musical art; set out a comprehensive description of the genre nature of the setting of folk songs, taking into account the interpretative aspect; determined the performing specifics of the genre of folk song setting in the conditions of Ukrainian vocal art; proposed and introduced the author's concept of professionalization of vocal art into the scientific circulation of musicology, which enriches the idea of the main tendencies and problems of modern performing practice; on the example of appeals in the performing practice of singers to the genre of folk song setting, identified and systematized the ways of professionalization of Ukrainian vocal art in the theoretical and practical dimensions; highlighted the interpretative patterns of the musical-performing process through the prism of the peculiarities of the genre of folk song setting; offered analytical model of the performing analysis of interpretative activity of the vocalist, created on the basis of the analysis of performance versions of compositions of the genre of folk song setting; considered the interpretative component in the performing interpretations of individual compositions of the genre of folk song setting; defined the priority directions of further research of genre identification of the compositions which synthesize in themselves the qualities of traditional musical culture and professional musical art (both in theoretical, and in practical sense). The theory of the performing style has been further developed.
