Essay

The dissertation research is devoted to the study of the problem of psychological adaptation of students to the IEE. Experimental work was conducted during 2019-2020 with students who attend specialized training courses to prepare for the IEE. The study involved 180 students, both male (87 students) and female (93 students), aged 16-17 years. The sample included students of 11th grades of I-III degrees secondary schools №25 in Kyiv, LLC "Lyceum of Politics, Economics, Law and Foreign Languages", LLC "Center for Intensive Preparation for IEE "Clever"". A set of theoretical, empirical and mathematical and statistical research methods is used in the work. The psychological features of students that contribute to their adaptation to the IEE are determined. Theoretical analysis of domestic and foreign conceptual approaches in the study of psychological adaptation of the individual in general and, in particular, the adaptation of students to learning has been carried out. Based on theoretical analysis, it was found that the level of psycho-emotional adaptation of students to stressful situations largely determines their willingness to reveal their full potential and demonstrate in the short term the highest level of relevant knowledge, skills and abilities in new, unusual conditions. It is substantiated that the psychological adaptation of students is a multicomponent process, each component of which serves as an appropriate resource for their harmonious preparation for the IEE. Based on the generalized results of diagnostics of the studied sample, individual psychological features of schoolchildren are revealed: structural characteristics of emotional, rational and behavioral component of psychological adaptation of schoolchildren in the process of preparation and performing tests are analyzed. Comparative analysis using Student's t test for independent groups revealed statistically significant differences between the level of stress resistance, emotional and behavioral components of socio-psychological adaptation in females and males. The relationship between stress resistance and the level of adaptation of students and the quality of their IEE is clarified. It was found that students with low levels of stress resistance are much more prone to maladaptive behaviors, which affects their academic performance and quality. Based on this, a conclusion is drawn about the need for additional work of a psychologist with graduating students using a special training program to increase the level of stress resistance of students and optimize their adaptive behavior during the preparation and preparation of IEE. A training program aimed at increasing the adaptive potential of students by developing their psychological competencies has been developed. The formative experiment confirmed the effectiveness of the training program to optimize the adaptive behavior of students in the process of preparation and performing of IEE. The scientific novelty and theoretical significance of the study is that for the first time: it is substantiated that the general trend of scientific research of adaptation is the transition from its consideration as a physiological process to the study of socio-psychological aspects of the adaptation process. The study of the causal relationship between the level of personal adaptive potential of students, their individual psychological characteristics and adaptive behavior of students in stressful situations is deepened and clarified. The practical significance of the study is that the provisions, conclusions and recommendations set out in the paper have practical application - designed for use in the development of training programs by school psychologists to work with students who have a low level of stress resistance. General educational recommendations for school psychologists, teachers and parents have been developed.
