Essay

The dissertation is devoted to a comprehensive study of the evolution of the global trading system under conditions of global economic instability, in particular, to identify and analyze the determinants of deepening its asymmetries in order to substantiate proposals for improving the World Trade Organization (WTO) work. The paper contains a description of the theoretical and methodological foundations of the formation and evolution of the global trading system, its subject composition, regulatory regime and key development trends. The study identifies and systematizes the existing asymmetries of the global trading system that have direct and indirect impact on its development. Particular attention is paid to characteristics of the approaches of prominent international economic organizations to the categorization of countries by the level of economic development, as well as the study of the impact countries and individual customs territories usage of tariff and non-tariff instruments to regulate exports and imports development on the assymetries of the global trading system.
