Essay

The work was performed at the Department of Management of Innovative Entrepreneurship and International Economic Relations of the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The dissertation can be found in the library of the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" at the address: 61002, Kharkiv, Kirpichov St., 2. Intellectual property management in an enterprise is a complex process that includes the development (creation), acquisition of rights, commercialization, protection of rights and subsequent disposal of an intellectual property object. In order to be competitive, it is necessary for an industrial enterprise to effectively manage intellectual property objects at all stages of the life cycle. Many scientific works, both domestic and foreign, are devoted to the formation of theoretical foundations of intellectual property management in industrial enterprises. It can be defined that among domestic researchers the most prominent are: A. Cherep, A. Chystiakova, A. Kosenko, A. Pukhalska, V. Sviatnenko, V. Semenova, Z. Pichkurova, I. Kuchumova, I. Kornilova, M. Vachevskyi, O. Maslak, O. Butnik-Siverskyi, P. Pererva, P. Klimushyn, P. Tsybulov, T. Kobielieva T. Husakovska, and others. Among the foreign scientists the most prominent are: B. Cassiman, G. Manjia, H. Hong, J. Lerner, J. Alcácer, K. Beukel, M. Webb, M. Giuliani, N. Bloom, N. Short, T. Guoshuang, Z. Zhiming, and others. However, in the scientific literature there is no single view on the use of the most effective scientific approaches to intellectual property management in industrial enterprises, so the issues of combining intellectual property management with process-functional approaches require further study. Thus, the development and scientific substantiation of theoretical and scientific-methodological approaches to the formation of intellectual property management of industrial enterprises according to the process-functional approach is an urgent scientific and practical task that requires further refinement and determines the direction of dissertation research. The purpose of the dissertation is the improvement and further development of the theoretical provisions, methodological approaches and scientific-practical recommendations for improving the intellectual property management of industrial enterprises based on the process-functional approach. In accordance with this purpose the following tasks have been set and solved: – investigation of scientific approaches for the intellectual property management of an industrial enterprise; - analysis of the current state of intellectual property objects' usage in the countries of the world and in Ukraine; - substantiation and development of a scientific and methodological approach to quantitative and qualitative assessment of the intellectual property management of industrial enterprises; - development of a scientific and methodological approach to the management of intellectual property objects of industrial enterprises due to the functional approach; – substantiation of recommendations for managing the intellectual property of industrial enterprises based on the principles of the process approach; – development of scientific and methodological provisions for optimization of intellectual property management using the process-functional approach; - provision of methodological support for assessing the economic effect of managing the intellectual property of industrial enterprises using the processfunctional approach. The object of research - processes for the intellectual property management of industrial enterprises. The subject of research - development of theoretical, methodological and scientific–practical foundations of intellectual property management of industrial enterprises based on the process-functional approach. The theoretical and methodological basis of the dissertation work was made up of general scientific provisions of economic theory, enterprise management theory, scientific works of leading scientists. The dissertation work uses general scientific methods: abstract-logical and dialectical in order to clarify the essence of the concept "intellectual property of an industrial enterprise" as a factor of increasing its competitiveness; analysis and synthesis in order to develop the methodological approach to quantitative and qualitative assessment of intellectual property management of an industrial enterprise; special methods (statistical, index, regression analysis, neural networks, network modeling in conditions of uncertainty) to justify the cost of intellectual property objects (goodwill, certificates of approval of energy produced from renewable energy sources), optimization of management due to the processfunctional approach, quantitative and qualitative assessment of intellectual property management of industrial enterprises.
