The thesis looks into theoretical generalization and scientific solution of the
issue of forming foreign language competence of future economists in non-formal
education, which is manifested in theoretical justification and practical
implementation of pedagogical technology of forming pedagogical phenomenon
under consideration, experimental proof of its effectiveness. The results of the
theoretical and experimental research demonstrate the objectivity of the initial
provisions and show the solution of the tasks assigned in the thesis.
The scientific novelty of the study is in the fact that for the first time
pedagogical technology for the formation of foreign language competence of future
economists as a set of actions and a clearly defined sequence of forms and methods
of foreign language learning (mobile learning, TED-talks, debates, trainings) in nonformal education is established; the meaning of the term ‟foreign language competence of future economists” is clarified and expanded to be interpreted as a
systematic and structured set of knowledge, skills, practical experience that
contribute to the successful use of a foreign language by future economists both in
solving complex specialized problems and practical tasks during professional
activity in the field of accounting, auditing and taxation and in the process of
professional training, and for the purpose of further continuous self-education,
professional and personal self-development and versatile self-improvement; the
structure of foreign language competence of future economists in the unity of
cognitive-informational, motivational-valueable, reflexive-regulatory and activitybehavioral components, features of using non-formal education in higher
educational institutions in order to form foreign language competence of future
economists and the system of knowledge about the means of forming foreign
language competence of future economists are further developed.
The practical significance of the obtained results is determined by the
improvement of the content of professional training of future economists, in
particular, the development of educational and methodological support, which
includes: materials for debates ‟Brainstorming Ideas for Debates”;
recommendations and exercises for developing presentation skills with the help of
TED-talks; didactic educational resource for learning English based on the designer
platform for learning foreign languages SkillzRun for students of economics with
the language level A2-B1; materials for training during the organization of summer
schools for future economists; educational and methodical manual ‟Pedagogical
technology of formation of foreign language competence of future economists using
non-formal education”.
The main provisions, results and conclusions of the thesis can be used to
optimize the training of future economists in teaching the disciplines ‟Fundamentals
of Intercultural Communication”, ‟Foreign Language for Professional Purposes”,
‟Business Foreign Language”, development of innovative training courses in higher
educational establishments, enrichment and diversification of the content of existing educational components, in the work of linguistic centres of different forms of
ownership, etc.
