The thesis investigates the problem of training practical psychologists to manage the development of a professional group on a team building basis and proposes a new approach to its solution which is to introduce technology for training practical psychologists to manage the development of a professional group on a team building basis. Based on the analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature and management sources it has been discovered the methodological and theoretical principles of training practical psychologists to manage the development of a professional group on the basis of team building which basis is fundamental scientific sources where it is revealed the main terms of the research such as "professional group development", "stages of professional group development", "professional training of practical psychologists", "readiness", "practical psychologist's readiness to manage professional group development" , "team building", "team building", "pedagogical technology", "technology of training practical psychologists to manage the development of a professional group on the basis of team building"; research on the preparation of practical psychologists to work in a team; achievements of modern scientists and experience of practitioners, which substantiate the content and functionality of teambuilding, which affect the effectiveness of training of practical psychologists to manage the development of a professional group and is an effective means of developing a professional group. It is established that a professional group is a community of individuals united on the basis of performing common professional tasks in a joint long-term activity which is due to mandatory professional communication; the concept of "team" is seen as a group of high level of development, in which its members interact on the basis of mutual trust and mutual support and give each other the authority to perform the roles (tasks) for which they are best prepared. In the thesis the readiness of a practical psychologist to manage the development of a professional group is defined as a stable, holistic, integrative formation of personality which allows a practical psychologist to interact effectively with the head of a professional group for its development and skills (definition of stages and goals of group development, role structure of its members, selection of methods of cohesion and education of professional team) that ensure effective development of professional group, professionally important personal qualities (tolerance, empathy, stress, sociability, organization).
