Essay

In this Ph.D. thesis, for the first time, the linguoculturological peculiarity of Russian paronymy is considered under the condition of using speech-behavioral tactics (SBT). The functioning of paronymy as a lexical category reveals signs of an objective and subjective nature, depending on the personality of the producer and recipient, speech-behavioral situations (SBS) and tactics, speech-cultural scripts (SCS), on the linguocultural background of lexical units that are in paronymic relations. The thesis highlights the SBT of unintentional and intentional paronymy. The basis for such differentiation of the SBT of paronymy is the dichotomy of praxeological concepts of unintentionality / intentionality in the use of paronymy in the Russian linguocultural space. The unintentional use of paronymy reveals, on the basis of the functional sign of SBT, a paronymic unintentional error in situations of speaking, listening, writing, reading and SBT of a paronymic inadvertent clarification of thought. The intentional use of paronymy reveals, based on the functional sign of SBT, transformational paronymy in the SCS of the language game, SBT of the artistic use of paronymy in situations of aesthetic convergence of paronyms and paronymic rhyming, as well as SBT of the educational influence of paronymy in language learning. The concept of speech-behavioral tactics, which correlates with the concepts of a speech-behavioral situation and a speech-cultural scenario, was chosen as the key concept in this thesis. In the SBS inherent in the detected SBT, pragmassemantics is realized, due to the social and national-cultural specifics of the SCS (scripts), which correlate with the corresponding structural frames. Various situations of unintentional paronymic error can be caused by a lack of knowledge of the language code, the automatic use of a more frequent unit of paronymic opposition, acoustic interference, articulation, visual or auditory defects, lack of lighting, similarity of graphic word keys, illegible handwriting. In various SBTs of intentional paronymy, SCSs of paronymic speech games are involved along with comic, humorous, ironic, satirical, mocking, offensive, humiliating, adventurous, deceptive, etc.; paronymy can accompany an allegory, an emphasized convergence of words, rhyming, special methods of teaching a language and improving knowledge of a language.
