The dissertation on competition of a scientific degree of the doctor of philosophy on a specialty 014 Secondary education (on subject specialties). - Poltava National Pedagogical University named after VG Korolenko, Poltava, 2021. The dissertation research is devoted to the problem of organization of extracurricular work of students on labor training. The urgency of the study is due to the renewal of the legal framework and educational standards of modern secondary education, which requires appropriate changes in the system of organization of subject training, including labor training. The development of the principles of organization of labor education of students of 5-9 grades in the New Ukrainian school necessitates the formation of creative, comprehensively developed personality of the student during class and extracurricular activities. This highlights the need to update approaches to school education, expand opportunities to implement the tasks of labor training of students in extracurricular activities. In the first section - "Psychological and pedagogical foundations of the organization of extracurricular activities of students in labor education" analysis of the structure and content of the conceptual construct "methods of organizing extracurricular activities of students in labor education." Conceptual approaches to the organization of extracurricular activities of students as a means of labor training are substantiated. Means of diagnostics of competences and cognitive independence of students in the process of extracurricular work on labor training are determined The second section - "Methodological principles of organization of extracurricular activities of students in labor education" examines the organizational and methodological conditions for the formation of competencies of students in labor education in the process of extracurricular activities. The model of a technique of the organization of extracurricular work of pupils on labor training is designed. Methods and means of stimulating cognitive independence of students in extracurricular labor training by means of formative control are revealed. The third section - "Experimental verification of the effectiveness of methodological conditions for extracurricular activities of students in labor education" presents the features of the organization and the results of the ascertaining pedagogical experiment, reveals dynamic changes in the formation of key and subject competencies of students in the formative experiment. models of methods of organizing extracurricular activities of students in labor education.
