The dissertation research provides a comprehensive solution to the problem of modern pedagogical science and practice – the formation of the aesthetic competence of future choreography teachers in higher education institutions. The aim of the study is to theoretically substantiate and experimentally test pedagogical conditions for forming the aesthetic competence in future music art teachers. Scientific novelty of the obtained results. It was the first time when the pedagogical conditions of forming the aesthetic competence of future music art teachers were substantiated (actualization of aesthetic values of future music teachers; construction of creative professionally oriented environment in the process of professional training of students; ensuring interaction of artistic and general pedagogical training of future music teachers). A model of forming the aesthetic competence of future music art teachers of (cognitive and enriching, constructive and developmental, creative and professional stages) was developed; the concept of “competence” was clarified; the theory and methods of aesthetic training of future art teachers in a higher education institution were further developed. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in developing a methodology for diagnosing the personal and professional qualities of future music art teachers; developing experimental methods of forming the aesthetic competence of future music art teachers. An elective course program was developed for students majoring in 014 Secondary Education (Music Art) “Aesthetic Competence of a Future Music Art Teacher”. The results of the research can be used to update the content of general (“Pedagogy”, “Pedagogy of Higher Education”, “Pedagogy of Art”) and art (“Music Theory”, “Methods of teaching an integrated course “Art”, “Methods of Music Teaching”) disciplines in a higher education institution.
