The dissertation presents a theoretical generalization and practical solution of the problem of personal and creative development of elementary school pupils in the process of learning music. In today's conditions, determined, in particular, by the intellectualization of society, the main task of education is to educate individuals capable of creative activity, activation of personal creative potential, self-development, self-improvement on the way to the goal, able to quickly adapt to transformation in all spheres of life, participation in these transformational processes, including cultural ones.
The relevance of this study is due to the fact that the dissertation emphasizes the problem of personal and creative development of elementary school pupils in the process of learning music as an important component of art education. Issues of development of creative abilities in the field of art pedagogy are developed by modern Ukrainian scientists (O. Koval, A. Kozyr, O. Komarovska, L. Masol, V. Ragozina, O. Shcholokova, etc.) and are receiving special attention during the reform of education in Ukraine.
The dissertation investigates the ambiguity of scientists' understanding of the category "creativity", which is considered one of the most powerful factors in personality development. Systematization and generalization of views of foreign and Ukrainian scholars on the development of personality in pedagogical and psychological aspects is conducted. The need for a comprehensive study of this problem in the context of the age characteristics of elementary school pupils is emphasized. The importance of learning music, which contributes to the mastery of cultural heritage of mankind, comprehensively developing the personality, especially - emotionally, intellectually, creatively is marked.
The personal and creative development of elementary school pupils in the process of learning music is also presented as one of the aspects of the process of becoming a citizen's personality, capable of future creative activity. The development of artistic, associative, creative thinking from the initial stage of music education promotes the ability to transfer the acquired experience in various spiritual and aesthetic spheres.
The research actualizes the role of the integrative approach in the personal and creative development of elementary school pupils, emphasizes the importance of integration of subjects of artistic and aesthetic cycle in the process of learning music.
As a result of the analysis of scientific literature, based on researchers' definition of creativity as a condition and result of creative development of personality, as an integral quality that includes a set of creative possibilities, as well as understanding of creativity as one of the "system-forming factors of personality structure", influencing and determining the level of personality development and self-realization, the understanding of creativity of elementary school pupil as the ability to constructive, non-standard thinking, which, based on the acquisition of diverse knowledge allows the creation of new is given.
Under the personal and creative development of elementary school pupils in the process of learning music we understand the formation of the pupil as a social being, capable of constructive, non-standard thinking that creates new, which is based on acquired artistic knowledge, acquired emotional experience, musical and creative skills.
The study of the essence and content of personal and creative development of elementary school pupils in the process of learning music allowed to identify structural components (emotional-motivational, cognitive, activity-creative, behavioral-creative) and develop organizational and methodological model of personal and creative development of elementary school pupils in the process of learning music.
The efficiency of application of activity, personal, integrative, reflective approaches in the process of personal and creative development of elementary school pupils is revealed. The defined principles are: reliance on educational and musical-creative experience of pupils; the principle of maintaining the connection between personal qualities that need development and the success of cognitive activities that ensure this development; awareness of the purpose of educational activities - development of a spiritual personality capable of creative activities.
The pedagogical conditions that ensure the effectiveness of personal and creative development of elementary school pupils in the process of learning music are scientifically substantiated: establishing relationships that are characterized as creative interaction between subjects of study; emphasizing the pedagogical skills of a music teacher; orientation of the educational process on the systematic inclusion in various forms of musical and creative activity with an emphasis on games; creating a creative environment.
