The dissertation research provides a comprehensive solution to the issue of modern pedagogical science and practice – training future teachers of fine arts for design activity by means of productive technologies in higher education institutions. The aim of the study is to identify and theoretically substantiate the pedagogical conditions for training future teachers of fine arts for design activities by means of productive technologies. Scientific novelty of the obtained results. It is the first time when the essence and component structure of the phenomenon «readiness of future teachers of fine arts for design activity» was revealed; criteria with appropriate indicators to determine the levels of readiness of future teachers of fine arts for design activities were developed. The levels (high, medium and low) of readiness of future fine arts teachers for design activity were defined and characterized. The pedagogical conditions of training future teachers of fine arts for design activity by means of productive technologies were defined and substantiated: integration orientation of professional disciplines on attraction of future teachers of fine arts to design activity; creation of a developmental information and productive environment in the process of training future teachers of fine arts for design activity; stimulating the creative activity of future teachers of fine arts to the use of productive technologies in the design process. A model of training future teachers of fine arts for design activity by means of productive technologies was developed. The content characteristics of the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the research were improved; the essence of the concepts «design», «design activity», «training future teachers of fine arts for design activity», «productive technologies» were specified. The content and methods of training future teachers of fine arts for design activity by means of productive technologies were further developed. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in the development and testing of diagnostic and experimental methods of training future teachers of fine arts for design activities by means of productive technologies; elective course «Art of Design» (for applicants for the first (bachelor) level of higher education, specialty 014 Secondary education (fine arts) and its methodological support, developed debates, discussions, press conferences, competitions, workshops, professionally oriented role and business games and exercises, a set of pedagogical situations and tasks aimed at training future teachers of fine arts for design activities by means of productive technologies.
