The dissertation is devoted to the study of the problem of psychological
features of the leadership position of the personality of a social services specialist.
The object of the dissertation research is the leadership position as a psychological
phenomenon, the subject - the psychological features of the leadership position of the
individual social services specialist. The purpose of the study was to provide a
theoretical basis and experimental study of the content, components and
psychological characteristics of the leadership position of the personality of a social
services specialist.
The scientific novelty of the work is that the author:
for the first time:
• the essence of the leadership position of a social services specialist is defined
as an internal position that provides a value attitude to leadership in the field of social
work, the ability to act constructively in problematic situations of professional
activity, to take responsibility for decisions that are related to the life of recipients of
social services; to promote partnership cooperation of social service entities in their
implementation;
• substantiated the content, value-semantic, cognitive-reflexive, affectiveevaluative and regulatory-behavioural components, criteria and indicators of the
leadership position of social service specialists;
• the program of formation of the leading position of the personality of the
specialist of social services is proved and its efficiency is proved;
deepened knowledge of leadership, position and psychological approaches to
the study of the leadership position of the individual, the psychological characteristics
of social services;
provisions on the essence of leadership, psychological conditions for the
formation of leadership qualities of the individual in general and the specialist of
social services, in particular, were further developed.
The practical significance of the results of the study lies in the possibility of
using the author’s program to form a leadership position of a specialist in social
services. Psychodiagnostic tools tested in the work can be the basis for monitoring
the levels of the leadership position of specialists, their ability to act constructively in
problematic situations of professional activity. The obtained data can also be used in
the educational process for the training of specialists in the speciality “Social Work”
in higher education institutions, as well as postgraduate education institutions in the
process of professional development and more.
According to the results of theoretical analysis of scientific sources, the main
approaches to the study of the position of the individual are identified: sociological
(position as the social position of the individual, its place in the social structure (role),
which allows us to speak of the so-called external position of the individual; each
dimension of which corresponds to a certain type of social relations, taking into
account the mental qualities of the individual, which belong neither to biological nor
social properties), psychoanalytic (position through feelings or awareness of selfworth / inferiority), socio-cognitive (position through installation as a cognitive
structure that combines cognition, complex evaluative reactions, emotions, behavioral
intentions); personal-activity (position through orientation, which forms the internal
position of the individual in relation to the social environment and objects of the
social environment); subjective (position as subjectivity, subjective position and
subjective regulation of conscious activity, providing constant progressive selfdevelopment, creative self-determination and productive self-realization in
professional activities and subject- activity as its development, in the course of which
the position interpreted in the context of an act that allows you to model your own
future life as an internally determined activity of self-design, self-knowledge, selfrealization, using mechanisms of self-determination, self-perception, self-evaluation,
self-actualization, discover and realize their mental potential and themselves as its
subject); humanistic and value (position through the humanization of its functioning,
promoting personal development of all its subjects through the actualization of the
need for self-development, leadership, values of themselves, others; complex system
of attitudes, attitudes and motives, goals and values); existential (position through the
openness of the individual to the outside world, existential worldview, based on a
high tolerance for uncertainty, which allows the formation of personality in the
process of interaction with the world); reflexive (position through the ability to live,
feel emotions, express themselves, their life position, adhering to spiritual values and
meanings; the ability to acquire freedom of choice of one’s own way of life, reflexive
act of taking responsibility for one’s own way of life).
