The dissertation is devoted to the analysis of proper names in works about the national liberation movement of the first half of the twentieth century through an integral connection with socio-cultural factors influencing the formation of onyms′ variants. It has been established the quantitative and structural features of proper names; their associatively conditioned semantic layers and motivational preconditions of functional loading have been revealed. The source base of the dissertation covers the novels and memoirs about the national liberation movement of Ukraine in the first half of the twentieth century, which are divided into two chronological periods (1917‒1921 and 1942‒1954). The normative basis of using different terminological units for denoting functioning of the onyms in the texts of analyzed works has been clarified and the synonymous variability of the scientists′ terms positioning and their substantiation by the Ukrainian and foreign linguists has been also clarified. The semantic and functional features of the onym in the analyzed texts of works and its non-textual connections and semantic layers have been established. The terminological differentiation between the semantic concepts of pseudonym and pseudo denoting the names of historical figures and literary anthroponyms in the texts of the analyzed works in order to hide the real name has been established. Connotative, motivational and quantitative categories of the writers′ usage of the historical informative-evaluative literary anthroponyms, the denotations′ activity of which was connected with cultural and theological directions have been characterized. The name of the Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko has been qualified as the most widely used informative-evaluation literary anthroponym. The structural features of the names of the characters, the quantitative difference of its usage in the texts of works about two historical periods (1917‒1921 and 1942‒1954) have been analyzed. The literary anthroponyms′ surnames functioning of the affix and semantic way of creation, their quantitative and structural components have been characterized. It has been considered the quantitative difference in functioning of appellatives that denote family relations or social status of literary anthroponyms in the texts of analyzed works about the liberation movement of 1917‒1921 and 1942‒1954. It has been found that the most frequently used appellatives, which the authors of the analyzed works used to nominate the names of professions, are variable names of priests, teachers and doctors. The motivational preconditions of assigning nicknames to the characters of the analyzed works and their quantitative and semantic correlation have been highlighted. The functioning of three names-andronyms′ categories have been established according to the models of the methods′ creation: a model with the formant -ych(a), the formant -k(a) and the formant -ov(a) іn the texts of analyzed works about the liberation movement of Ukraine in the first half of the twentieth century. It has been established, that the sacred names occupy a prominent place in the anthroposystem in the texts of analyzed works about the national liberation movement of the first half of the twentieth century. It has been clarified the quantitative functioning of the one-lexeme variant of the name God. It has been revealed the names of associative-connotative toponyms in the analyzed texts about the national liberation movement of the first half of the XX century in Ukraine. Due to the personal and psychological features, experience and writers' world’s perceptions, the writers in the texts show the influence of the social environment on the general semantic circle’s formation of the toponym Ukraine and its seven variants. It has been found, that the writers use the names of the one-lexeme variant of the choronym Ukraine and due to the characteristic adjectives and noun attributes emphasize its territorial features, political regimes of the country and the subjective feelings about the formation of Ukraine’s independence. The units of propriative lexicon, which contribute to the reproduction of the mythocultural views′ identity, traditions and beliefs of a certain people, also called the category of poetonyms, have been considered in the analyzed texts of works. The co-functionality of the linguistic worldview, real world’s perception and the mythopoetic one is directly traced on the examples of international and Ukrainian poetonyms.
