Essay

The relevance of the dissertation topic is due to the need for a systematic theoretical understanding of the genre-stylistic originality of the drama of Oleksandr Irvanets as an original artistic phenomenon at the turn of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The author's dramaturgical output is studied in the context of the creative activity of the representatives of the "Bu-Ba-Bu" group, taking into account the leading trends in playwriting and theatrical life of the late Soviet era and the first decades of Independence. The specifics of the artistic material, which became the object of research, the purpose and tasks led to the application of a number of scientific methods. The biographical method made it possible to substantiate the generational originality of the creativity of the representatives of the "Bu-Ba-Bu" group and their role in the formation of the national version of postmodernism; comparative method help to reveal the peculiarities of the interpretation of individual genre forms of O. Irvanets' work in the context of artistic searches of Ukrainian playwrights of the late 20th - early 21st centuries; comparative and historical method made it possible to determine the nature of the artistic reinterpretation of literary traditions and to highlight the genre and stylistic originality of the poetry, prose, and drama of "Bu-Ba-Bu" in comparison with the artistic work of representatives of world and Ukrainian literature; with the help of the mythological method, the origin of a number of images of O. Irvanets dramaturgy and the nature of their integration into the individual author's mythology of the writer were established; hermeneutic and intertextual methods were used to identify content constants and the main features of the author's idiostyle in the context of the work of the "Bu-Ba-Bu" group
