The PhD thesis is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the structure of modern literary discourse for children and its pragmalinguistic features. The topicality of the PhD thesis is conditioned by the need for lexical, stylistic and structural analysis of modern literary discourse for children, in particular children's stories; lack of comprehensive studies of modern literary texts for children, taking into account their pragmatic potential; the need to study works for children as a separate type of literary discourse with characteristic categorical and structural features. The research is aimed at characteristic of the discourse status of children's fiction, analyzing the structure of the literary text and linguistic means used to identify the megatext of children's fiction and to update the author's pragmatic guidelines. The source base of the study is the corpus of Ukrainian literary texts for children of the 21st century, in particular, the works of such famous children's writers as A. Bachynskyi, H. Vdovichenko, O. Gavrosh, N. Gerbish, S. Dermanskyi, A. Kokotyukha, I. Malkovich Z. Menzatyuk, V. Rutkivskyi and others were analyzed (total number of 69 works). For a detailed structural analysis, the genre of the children's novel was chosen due to the representative presentation of the main components of the megatext. The novelty of the obtained results is determined by the fact that, for the first time in Ukrainian linguistics, the structural characteristics of children's discourse are presented through the megatext expressed by means of creolization within the framework of the main, optional and auxiliary texts; it is proved that the children's literary text is an emergent entity that exceeds the separate set of its components; the lexical and stylistic features of this type of fiction are outlined. The theoretical value of the research lies in the deepening of such areas of linguistic research as discourseology, linguopragmatics, stylistics, through the expansion of the description of the categories of literary discourse for children, the structural and compositional characteristics of the Ukrainian children's story, in the successful combination of stylistic and pragmatic aspects of the analysis of literary text for children. The practical application of the obtained results implies the possibility of their use during the teaching of courses on linguopragmatics, stylistics of the Ukrainian language; in the research work of higher education students; while studying the peculiarities of the individual style of modern children's writers.
