Parkhomchuk A. US policy in the Middle East during the Donald Trump presidency

The work identifies the features, main priorities, implementation mechanisms and results of the US policy in the Middle East under the administration of Donald Trump and provides an assessment of its impact on the development of global and regional international political processes. The conceptual and theoretical foundations of the study of US foreign policy, in particular in the Middle East, are defined. The doctrinal foundations of US policy in the Middle East are analyzed in the context of American electoral processes. The main means of realizing the geopolitical and geoeconomic interests of the United States in the Middle East are clarified, and an assessment of the effectiveness of these means and the degree of their compliance with the stated goal is given. The peculiarities and priority directions of the US policy in the region under the administration of D. Trump are revealed. The specificity of the position of the D. Trump administration on the main regional problems, including countering international terrorism, the Arab-Israeli and Palestinian-Israeli settlement, the Syrian crisis, the problem of non-proliferation of WMD, is determined. The peculiarities of the interaction of the USA with other extraregional actors in the context of competition for influence in the region are established, the characteristic features and peculiarities of American-Chinese and American-Russian relations in the Middle East are clarified, and their influence on the policy of the USA and the development of the regional geopolitical situation is determined. The object of the research is the US foreign policy as a projection of the power potential of this state into the international political environment. The subject of the study is the Middle East policy of the USA under the administration of D. Trump. The methodological structure of the work provides for the analysis of US policy in the Middle East at several levels: theoretical and conceptual (analysis of the ideological and theoretical foundation of foreign policy in the context of US strategic culture); doctrinal (analysis of foreign policy strategies and doctrines as officially formulated universal guiding principles of US foreign policy); on a practical-political level – as an analysis of the implementation of US policy in the Middle East under the administration of D. Trump.
