The dissertation focuses on the confrontation strategy as a dominant communication strategy within modern American political discourse, investigating the challenges associated with its rendition in Ukrainian translation. The theoretical and methodological framework of the dissertation aligns with the cognitive-communicative research paradigm. This approach fully encompasses the pragmatics of political communication as a pivotal text-forming category that guides translatorial action and serves as an important quality criterion in political translation. Additionally, it emphasizes the translator's role in preserving and recreating the confrontational implications of the source message. The integration of traditional methods of translation analysis with experimental research methods facilitates the examination of the process of rendering confrontation in political translation as a complex and multifaceted activity, influenced by a range of linguistic, communicative, cognitive, and psychological factors.
