Essay

The dissertation is a comprehensive study of the topical problem of the formation of professional self-development of future social workers, which is reflected in the theoretical substantiation and experimental verification of the effectiveness of the technology of support for the formation of professional self-development of future social workers in the extracurricular activities of the institution of professional pre-higher education. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that modern guidelines for the formation and development of social work in Ukraine, increasing the requirements for the social and professional success of the social worker’s personality, determine the inclusion in the training system of the content, methods and forms of extracurricular activities aimed at the formation of professional self-development of applicants for professional pre-higher education, which actualizes the support for the technologization of this process. The dissertation analyzes and clarifies the essence of the concepts: «professional self-development of future social workers» is a systematic process of constant acquisition of knowledge and skills, personal and professional qualities, general and professional competencies in compliance with the values and ethical norms of social work to ensure the social and professional success of the personality of a social work specialist; «formation of the professional self-development of future social workers in an institution of professional pre-higher education» has been defined as the process of creating conditions for the continuous growth of personal and professional qualities, the gradual acquisition of knowledge, skills and competencies, as well as opportunities for the independent personal development of the future social worker’s personality, which is realized in space classroom and non-classroom educational and social-educational activities of the institution of professional pre-higher education; «technology of supporting the formation of professional self-development of future social workers in extracurricular activities» is a set of methods and forms of educational and social-pedagogical activities aimed at stimulating students to their own professional growth and achieving success in future professional activities. The scientific basis for the formation of professional self-development of future social workers in the conditions of extracurricular activities of an institution of professional pre-higher education is studied, which is represented by a complex combination of achievements from the positions of: personal content, which provides the definition of personal values, internal motivation for constant self-improvement, purposefulness for future professional activity; activity content, which is implemented in the system of professional training of social workers, taking into account the organization of extracurricular work and active participation of students in its activities; environmental orientation, which takes into account the possibility of creating a stimulating and supportive educational environment for the continuous professional growth of applicants for the success of future professional careers in the field of social work. The peculiarities of the experience of training future social workers in the institution of professional pre-higher education are characterized regarding the importance of extracurricular activities, filling them with content, methods and forms that would contribute to the formation of professional self-development of students. It has been established that extracurricular activity as a specially organized space within the educational process of a professional pre-higher education institution is determined by the potential possibilities of methods and forms to support and stimulate self-discovery, self-improvement and self-realization of students in order to achieve successful professional self-development of future social workers. The structure of professional self-development of future social workers is specified, the interaction of its components (cognitive, value-motivational, activity-practical) and criteria (awareness of professional self-development of social work specialists, attitude to the prospects of professional self-development and success of professional activity, involvement in ways to achieve professional self-development of social work specialists) regarding the integration of indicators (purposefulness, initiative, communicativeness, social activity, social experience), which determine the success of professional self-development of future social workers. On the basis of the defined criteria and their indicators, the levels of formation of professional self-development of future social workers (high, medium, low) are substantiated and characteristics for them are compiled.
