The problem of social adaptation in any of its manifestations is extremely relevant both for science and for social life. However, in recent times, the study of the process of social adaptation of a person in the conditions of an educational environment, which is constantly modernized, in accordance with the pace of scientific and technical progress, socialization challenges, and transformations in society, has gained special importance. Modern trends in the world actualize the issue of social adaptation of young people to various spaces in a multinational environment. Undeniably important for science, theory and practice at the moment is the social adaptation of foreign students in the educational environment of the university. In the conditions of open borders and international cooperation, the responsible mission of the educational environment of the university acquires special signifycance, the awareness of the important role of foreign students in the transformation of a cross-cultural society and the need to respond mobile to changes in it increases. The process of social adaptation of foreign students actualizes goal orientation, complexity, systematicity and integrity during the general process of adaptation in the international community. Social adaptation of foreign students in the educational environment of the university includes components such as: socio-cultural, socio-psychological, ethno-psychological, etc. A socially adapted student is able to work independently on his own development, raising educational and cultural levels; to develop the ability to independently acquire the competencies necessary for professional activity; adapt and integrate in a multinational and multicultural environment.
