Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the development, theoretical substantiation and experimental verification of the methodology for forming intercultural tolerance in adolescents through musical art. The state of development of the problem of forming intercultural tolerance in scientific and pedagogical discourse is characterized, its essence and structure are highlighted. The potential of musical art for the development of intercultural tolerance of adolescents has been clarified. Scientific approaches and principles of forming intercultural tolerance of adolescents through musical art are substantiated. General didactic and specific principles are highlighted, the implementation of which ensures formation of intercultural tolerance of adolescents through musical art. The pedagogical conditions for the formation of intercultural tolerance through musical art are substantiated, namely: 1) actualization of the cognitive interest of adolescents in studying works of musical art of the representatives of different nations as a means of forming intercultural tolerance of adolescents; 2) creation in the institution of general secondary education of an environment favorable for the formation of intercultural tolerance of adolescents in art lessons and in extracurricular activities; 3) application in art lessons and in extracurricular activities of communicative technologies and dialogical methods for the formation of intercultural tolerance of adolescents through musical art; 4) introduction of various forms of group work to create intercultural dialogue at art lessons and in extracurricular activities. The stages of implementation of the author’s methodology for forming intercultural tolerance of adolescents through musical art (motivationalorientational, implementational and result-reflective, each of which had its own goal and objectives) are outlined. The methods for forming intercultural tolerance of adolescents through musical art are outlined, divided into the following groups: motivational, interactive and reflective. A methodology for forming intercultural tolerance in adolescents through musical art has been developed. Criteria and indicators of the formation of intercultural tolerance in adolescents have been identified. Based on the generalization of the results, four levels of intercultural tolerance formation in adolescents were identified: high, sufficient, medium, low. The results of the final section confirmed the significant dynamics of changes in the levels of adolescents’ intercultural tolerance formation, which was achieved by implementing the author’s methodology. The scientific novelty of the obtained research results lies in the fact that for the first time in domestic pedagogical science, intercultural tolerance of adolescents has been investigated as a holistic psychological and pedagogical phenomenon, the types of tolerance have been characterized (external and internal; natural, moral and ethical; interpersonal, interfaith, intercultural, interethnic and intersocial); the potential of musical art tools for the formation of intercultural tolerance of adolescents has been clarified; the methodology for forming intercultural tolerance of adolescents through musical art is substantiated, the basis of which is: principles (intercultural orientation of the educational process in a comprehensive school in curricular and extracurricular activities; continuity in the formation of intercultural tolerance of adolescents in the process of studying works of musical art at lessons and in extracurricular activities; stimulation of independent activity, self-education and formation of conscious behavior in relationships with other people; free choice of the adolescent’s cultural identity; dialogicity and reflexivity) and pedagogical conditions (actualization of the cognitive interest of adolescents in studying works of musical art of the representatives of different nations as a means of forming intercultural tolerance of adolescents; creation in a general secondary education institution of an environment favorable for the formation of intercultural tolerance of adolescents at art lessons and in extracurricular activities; application at art lessons and in extracurricular activities of communicative technologies and dialogic methods of forming intercultural tolerance of adolescents through musical art; introduction of various forms of group work to create intercultural dialogue at art lessons and in extracurricular activities); criteria (cognitive-identification, motivational-value, emotional-evaluative, behavioral) and corresponding indicators of the intercultural tolerance formation in adolescents are identified.
