The author offers a novel view on the pedagogical essence of personality self-identification. It is being ascertained in the work that the main components of personality self-identification of a pupil are his or her activity, system of accepted values, and vision of his or her own future. The author argues for the following ways to optimise the process of personality self-identification: improving the content, forms, methods, and direction of the activity of a complex extramural educational institution.
