The main ways of the building terminology formation are determined, derivation processes, which are proper to French building terms, are examined, their semantics are described. It is ascertained that all derivation processes of the national French language take part in the building termi-nology formation.Though, French building terminology has a wide range of world-building patterns, the main ways of French building terms formation are syntactic derivation and suffixation.
