Modern French spelling is constantly evolving, similarly, borrowing trends and intercultural communication take on a special graphic incarnation. Assumption and applying other words, abbreviations create a change in spelling norms next to a traditional principle of writing. The lexical French dictionary is replenished every year. Additionally with those added pairs and a series of suppletive`s lexemes. New suppletive units emerging for changing primordial lexemes. Suppltives will require the analysis and description of the graphic characteristics to installing internal connections. The research represents the analysis of the graphic features and etymology of the suppletives of the French language. The material was taken from the research of the Ukrainian and French languages developed in collaboration with prof. K. Gruaz and prof. G. Krіuchkov (the results of the research were published in 3 volumes), French encyclopedia dictionaries Le Petit Robert, Larousse, Dictionnaire Littré from the language`s history, etymology, spelling, analogies, antonyms, synonyms, homonyms, lexis, a French spelling`s hystory dictionary by prof. N. Catach. In work, we use the structural semantics and historical etymological analysis. The base and the derivative of lexical couples, the rows, the families which are used in modern French are described. Exhibited analysis and description of the lexemes are represented in the variety of graphic inventory, literary and non-literary othogrammes. The position of the graphemes in the words that French spelling contains is defined. The description of the semantics of the derivative words comprises all kinds of lexical shades. Demonstrated orthographic features of the suppletives are added in the e-dictionary.
