Essay

The thesis offers a new complex systemic-functional approach to the study of the phenomenon of syntactic synonymy in French fiction of the XXth – the beginning of the XXIst centuries which builds on the theory of mental kineticism and consists in integral communicative-cognitive analysis of structural-semantic, pragmatic and stylistic properties of mono- and polypredicative constructions with syntactic mono- and polysynonymy at the syntagmatic and utterance levels. The thesis has revealed the mechanisms of the phenomenological construction and transformation of syntactic synonyms. It has proved that these structures are formed in the space of mental kineticism on the segment of the operating time of speech act causation according to the trine of French linguist G. Guillaume: mental operations → language → discourse in the form of one-basic (with one terminal chain) and two-basic (with several terminal chains) syntagmata and mono- and polypredicative propositions in the consequence of staged cognitive polyoperations at different levels of consciousness (destruction and reconstruction of structures and categories of being (primary consciousness) → sublinguistic scheme (subconscious stratum of secondary consciousness) → primary structure (surface stratum of secondary consciousness) → secondary synonymic transforms (surface stratum of secondary consciousness)) within the semantic-functional macrofield including the microfields of primary and syntactically and semantically nuanced approximating, approaching, close, similar, co(n)textually adequate structures
