Essay

The purpose of this dissertation was to examine the life and reserch work of the prominent Ukrainian art historian and critic Volodymyr Sichyns'kyj. One of the goals was to determin Sichyns'kyj's cjntribution to the Ukrainian culture and Ukrainian art history and criticism in particular. The Ukrainian science, Ukrainian art and Ukrainian society received in a person of V. Sichynsky a real scientist, expert in the history of world and particularly Ukrainian art, well as scrupulous explorer, popularisator of art and practicing ukrainian architect and engraver.
