The thesis is devoted to the contextual peculiarities of the use of verbs-synonyms of moment in the language of Frеnch sport press. During the research the structure of verbs of movement has been considered and the main components of their lexical meaning have been pointed out. In an outcome of a conducted research the reasons of dependence between the meaning of a contextual synonym and its verbal surrounding have been also revealed.
