Essay

The object of the research is the pedagogical heritage of John Locke. The purpose of the research is analyzing John Locke's theory of disciplining education, defining the factors of its development, and describing the prospects of creative use of the English scientist's pedagogical heritage. The methods of the research are theoretical, empirical and statistical. The theoretical results and the novelty are defining the factors, which influenced developing John Locke's pedagogical theory, characterizing his educational ideal, classifying his principles of breeding and teaching, comparative analysis of the term "discipline" in modern pedagogical theory and theory of John Locke, describing on its basis the criteria of estimating the level of the development of young people' conscious discipline. The practical results - prospects of actualization of John Locke's pedagogical heritage have been defined The subject and the level of the introduction - the main positions and conclusions of the research have beenimplemented. The efficiency of the introduction is high. The usage area is pedagogical, secondary schools, teachers' training colleges and universities.
