The object of research - public's participation in formation and development of primary and secondary education on the left-bank Ukraine in 1825-1861. Тhe aim of research - to determine the role of peoples initiative in the development of primary and secondary education on the left-bank Ukraine in 1825-1860. Methods of research - methods: problem-chronologic, of comparative and contextual analysis, of classification and systematization of interpretation synthesis; principles: of historism, objectiveness. Theoretical results and novelty - the organization and first complex research of non-work out in Ukrainian historiography problem of role of peoples initiative in the development of primary and secondary education on the left-bank Ukraine in 1825-1860. Practical results and novelty - the main ideas, theoretical statements results and facts material of the work may be used in preparing of collective and individual monographs on the History of Ukraine, in working out of general and specialized cources.
