Essay

The object of research is students' educational and cognitive activity at higher educational establishments of Ukraine in the second half of the 19th century. The aim of research is to generalize theoretical work and experience of realizing control. The methods of research are analytical, historical and comparative, retrospective. Theoretical and practical results of research is to generalize the experience of organ-izing control. Research results may be used when working out educational supplies on History of Pedagogy and instruc-tional papers for teachers of higher educational establish-ments. Scientific newness: lies in the fact that integral analy-sis of such problem was accomplished for the first time. The problem concerns organizing result control of students' edu-cational and cognitive activity at higher educational estab-lishments of Ukraine in specific historic period. The intro-duction includes using principle conclusions of this thesis when teaching such disciplines as Pedagogy and History of Pedagogy at teachers' training establishments. The field of application is Theory and History of Pedagogy.
