The object is experimental pedagogy as a trend of pedagogical science; the aim is to reveal peculiarities, contents, forms and methods of development of the experimental pedagogy in the 20-30th y. of XX c. in Ukraine and influence of it's concepts on the modern pedagogical science and practice; methods are comparative, problematically-logical and historically-pedagogical analysis; the new approach lies in integral analysis of sources and development of native experimental pedagogy, in analysis of the experience of Ukrainan research institute of pedagogy during the investigated period; the main results are unveiling of essentials of the notion of experimental pedagogy, ascertaining of peculiarities of it's development in the 20-30th years of XX c. in Ukraine, revealing of contribution of representatives of Kharkov psychologically-pedagogical school A.Zalughny, A.Popov, I.Sokolyansky to the development of the experimental pedagogy, introducing into scientific practice out-of-the-way and unknown archives,historical facts connected with development of the experimental pedagogy in Ukraine; field is history of pedagogy
