The dissertation is on the role and possibilities of the means of decorative and applied arts for successful realization of national and patriotic education in higher pedagogical establishments. Pedagogical conditions and the methods of formation of national and patriotic features by means of decorative and applied arts in the students of higher pedagogical establishments are grounded and proved experimentally; criteria and indices uhich objectively characterize the level of knowledge, abilities and skills acquired by the student in the sphere of decorative and applied arts, of national and patriotic breeding are worked out.
