Kuchma O. German Emotional-Expressive Particles and Their Equivalents in Ukrainian (based on the Ukrainian Translations of the Contemporary German Prose).

The thesis focuses on the problems of translation of German emotional-expressive particles and their combinations, depending on the communicative and pragmatic functions in different communication types of utterances. The correct identification of the particle' s function in the original text during the analyses procedure and the proper translation by specific means of the target language during the reverbalization procedure assures the pragmatic equivalency of two utterances, two texts and of two literary works. The proposed approach made it possible to find different lexical means of the Ukrainian language to fulfil the same functions as the emotional-expressive particles - from one-morpheme particles to paraphrases and author's descriptions. The most effective and economic means are the lexical units of the same level (particles and their combinations, interjections, adverbs, inclosed words) which are the most appropriate ones for the lexicographical presentation of the analysed particles in German-Ukrainian dictionaries.
