This thesis is devoted to the complete analysis of the development of theory and practice of education in the USA. In the course of investigation main conditions of the national system of education formation were determined, main factors that influenced the development of the education in the USA in the 1 half of the 20 century and prevailing tendencies in the development of Didactics in the USA were defined, main stages of the development of the theory and practice of learning in the USA in the 1 half of the 20 century were pointed out and characterized.
