Object: philosophy of education of the USA; aim: to reveal the main problems? features and tendencies of development of philosophy of education in the American Enlightenment and define the possibilities of using the American experience for improvement of present home educational system; methods: theoretical, genetic, comparative, chronological; novelty: it is revealed the essential characteristics of the philosophical and pedagogical ideas of American enlighteners and substantiated the ways to study of the status and destination of philosophy of education as a sphere of science.
