Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to the problem of revealing and grounding of organization and pedagogical principles of functioning of boarding-school type lyceums for children from rural areas. As a result, the complex of conditions for effective functioning of the regional boarding-school type lyceum, peculiarities of its functioning (functioning mode) is found out. The author worked out the Conception of functioning and developing of the regional lyceum for children from rural areas according to which the system of lyceum students' education is formed and realized. The content of education in the lyceum, ways of its realization and principles of curriculum design are outlined in the dissertation; the pedagogical technology of "Step-by-Step Self-Education" the essence of which lies in the development of students' ability to discover new personal opportunities on the basis of gradual mastering of knowledge and getting experience is given; principles, content and structure of the system of educational work with students of the lyceum based on the consolidation of out-of-class, educational, club and circle activities with student self-governance are indicated. The model of a final-year student as a reference point to the final result of the lyceum activities is worked out by the author.
