Essay

The object are wounds and surgical infection in dogs; the purpose of research - to prove a pathogenetic role of the hemostatic system in the development of the surgical infection in dogs, and to develop on this basis effective methods of its correction; the methods are clinical, bacteriological, haematological (haemoglobin, erythrocytes, leukocytes, thrombocytes), hemostasiological (prothrombin time, active partial thromboplastin time, fibrinogen, soluble fibrin and fibrin/fibrinogen degradation products, activity of the factor XIII, antithrombin-III, protein C, fibrinolysis), immunological (lysocime, circulating immune complexes), cytochemical (myeloperoxidase); scientific novelty of work consist in that for the first time in veterinary surgery theoretically and clinical-experimentally there was substantiated a pathogenetic role of the hemostatic system in development of the surgical infection in dogs, and on this basis there was developed effective methods of its correction with the using of the hydrophilic-based unguets "Nitacidum" and "Laevomecolum", thiotriazolin and pentoxifyllin; it is offered: methods of diagnostics and controls of the surgical infection process; the use of hydrophilic based unguets "Nitacidum" and "Laevomecolum", as well as additionally thiotriazolin and pentoxifyllin in the treatment of dogs with surgical infection; the results are introduced in teaching process, and are used in the scientific investigations (Bila Tserkva State Agrarian University, National Agrarian University, Kharkiv State zooveterinarian academy, Lviv National Veterinary Medicine Academy by the name of Gzhitskiy, Poltava State Agrarian Academy, Odessa State Agrarian University); field of application: Veterinary Medicine.
