The object of study - osteoarthrosis in dogs. The aim of the study was to study the prevalence and risk factors for osteoarthrosis in dogs; clinically and experimentally substantiate diagnostic algorithms and the use of drugs for conservative treatment of dogs with osteoarthrosis. Research methods - clinical, radiological, hematological, surgical, histological, statistical. Scientific novelty. An adapted and modified to the course of osteoarthrosis in dogs parametric scoring scheme for assessing the clinical status of animals, structural and functional status of cartilage and subchondral bone, as well as the effectiveness of treatment and monitoring the dynamics of the disease. Histological evaluation of changes in the development of osteoarthrosis of the knee joint in dogs and microscopic changes in its bone and cartilage tissues. For the first time, a comparative evaluation of the effectiveness of various drugs in the field of conservative therapy - chondroprotective, enzymatic and homeopathic action. The peculiarities of the action of the drugs Adequan, Lidase and Zell and Discus compositum in the conditions of spontaneous osteoarthrosis and in the simulated destructive process are determined.
