Essay

In the dissertation the possibility of the individual approach in the antiepileptic drugs prescribing dependently on the neurotransmitters' profile of their action is grounded. Taking into account neurotransmitter profiles of the mechanisms of the studied antiepileptic drugs' actions, the optimum combinations - depakine and lamotrigine, carbamazepine and topiramate were grounded. These combinations appeared to be the most effective against seizures caused by GABA metabolism disturbances. With the use of quantum chemical method the correlation between antiseizure activity of phenobarbital, carbamazepine, depakine, lamotrigine, felbamate and the energy of the system's interaction of these drugs with aminoacid residue Thr201-Thr202-Gly203- Ala204-Tyr205-Pro206 of GABAA receptor was found out.
