Yakovyshyn R. The system of moral upbringing of pupils of general education schools of Halychyna (1850-1900).

The dissertation is dedicated to a historical and pedagogical analysis of the systemic approach to the process of moral upbringing of pupils of Halychyna schools in the second half of the 19th century. In the work historical, socio-cultural and moral pre-conditions of the formation and development of Ukrainian schooling of our region are analyzed. The educational activity of home cultural and educational, public and virtuous societies, out-of-school organizations, the church in regard to upbringing of school youth on the strength of Christian values have been interpreted. The content, forms, methods and means of moral upbringing and, besides, the elaboration of theoretical principles of the organization of the educational and upbringing process in the general education school by Ukrainian and foreign teachers have scientifically been motivated. The main results, principles and conclusions of the research can be used by scholars, teachers and students of higher schools as well as in the course of preparing textbooks and manuals of methodics.
