In the dissertation the complete analysis of pedagogical ideas and activity of M.V.Ostrogradsky in high schools is carried out. The author theoretically bases the main directions of its contents and defines main states and leading ideas of conception of the scientist on reform of higher education. The dissertation determines the experience of this scientist in institute's cathedras. All these have showed the perspectives by which heritage achieved can be implemented in practice of modern educational establishments.
