The dissertation is devoted to the study of the creative and pedagogical activity of Kharkiv higher art school representatives in the field of graphic arts in the second part of the 20th century. The art research work has revealed the following items: the mutual influence of easel and design forms and dependance of Plastic language, style peculiarities on these forms; the periods of the school development, the main pedagogical principles in teaching graphic disciplines. As a result of this investigation: new names of Kharkiv graphic artists and their works have been introduced into the science environment and the place of Kharkiv school in the history of the Ukrainian art of the 20th century has been determined
